Our next stop is Bandon, a small town on the southern Oregon Coast.
This has been on Erik's list for a long time. Bandon is home to Bandon Dunes, a world renowned golf complex consisting of seven courses.
After 10 years at our place on Market Street in downtown San Diego it was time for a new spot. But first, why not go on an adventure?
At the beginning of May we left our apartment with everything we (still) own packed in a minivan and set out to spend a year(ish) traveling around the western US staying for a month here and there.
We hope you'll follow along with us! We'll add new pics and updates on our progress. And please drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you.

Idaho
The first stop on our adventure is Sun Valley in central Idaho. Nestled next to Ketchum in the Wood River Valley, Sun Valley is known for skiing and celebrity second homes.
It's a popping place during peak winter and summer but our residency falls during what the locals call "slack." Unlike the Slack in my life, this one is very chill. We practically have the place to ourselves. It’s like the covid era minus facemasks and the perpetual fear of death.
This might be the best time of year to visit Sun Valley. Don't tell the locals I said that.
For our month in Sun Valley we rented a condo at the base of Dollar Mountain. People here take their outdoor activities very seriously. There is so much infrastructure for walking and biking. “Going to town” is 10 minutes on the bike path into Ketchum or jumping on the free city bus that makes the rounds every 30 min.
On the weekends we’ve done some fun hikes and Erik got rounds in at White Clouds, Trail Creek, and Elkhorn golf courses.
