Sarik's Adventures
After 10 years at our place on Market Street in downtown San Diego it was time for a new spot. But first, why not go on an adventure?
At the beginning of May we left our apartment with everything we (still) own packed in a minivan and set out to spend a year-ish traveling around the western US staying for a month here and there.
We hope you'll follow along with us! If you would like to get an email reminder when we add new content please .

Current LocationJuly has been a month of weekend traveling and interstitial stays. After Erik's conference in Vegas we had a week before my work event in San Diego. This happens to be Comic Con week in San Diego (IYKYK) so we found a little cabin out in the sticks on Palomar Mountain in northern San Diego county to spend a few days.

Work trips to Vegas hit a bit different. But if one must work in Vegas, doing it from a comfy hotel bed isn't too bad. There is also the option to mix things up with an afternoon walk around the casino before returning to work overstimulated and smelling faintly of stale booze and cigarettes.

We got to spent some time with our family for a couple weeks in between travels. We celebrated my sister's birthday, watch our nephew, Ziggy, figure out crawling, and house sat for Erik's parents while they were on vacation.

The first stop on our adventure was Sun Valley in central Idaho. Nestled next to Ketchum in the Wood River Valley, Sun Valley is known for skiing and celebrity second homes.
It's a hopping place during peak winter and summer but our residency fell during what the locals call "slack." Unlike the Slack in my life, this one is very chill. We practically had the place to ourselves. It’s like the covid era minus facemasks and the perpetual fear of death.
This might be the best time of year to visit Sun Valley. Don't tell the locals I said that.

Stories & Musings
A bit about us
Sarah & Erik
I hope this page makes our lives sound adventurous and exciting. Because actually we are pretty boring. We both work as software developers and our current dinner obsession is "big salads" which I bought special bowls for because a good big salad bowl has very specific requirements.
Outside of work, Erik is an avid golfer. Left to his own devices, he would play multiple rounds a day and have the craziest tan lines. I prefer running and yoga or any kind of acrobatic-type activity. This adventure has afforded us a lot of hiking opportunities and I guess we are of a certain age where a birding app suddenly appears on your phone. I swear I don't know how that happened.
We are eternally thankful to our families in Boise, Idaho, who have, and continue to, open their homes to us. Having a support system (with a spare room) is so comforting and gives us the luxury to take risks while having a "what happens if this all goes to hell" backup plan.
If you have questions or comments, we'd love to hear from you. Please drop us a line.
